Welcome to Averys - and a chance to taste the new vintages of some Wine Festival Winchester customer favourites.

Averys is based in Bristol and is located above a wonderful red brick vaulted cellars shop – well worth a visit when you are next in town.

From the cellars, Mimi Avery will give you a brief overview of the history of Averys. Mimi is 5th-generation Avery at the business that started as a wine merchants in 1793 and became Averys in the 1850s. She will talk you through the three wines, a little history, winemaking and description of the wines.

When you buy 12 bottles or more (of the same or a selection) a discount kicks in. It is always worth “filling your case”. You can buy through the shop, via mailorder or online – but we also have a 16-strong, complimentary Personal Wine Adviser Service which can tend to your every wine need. Delivery is free if you spend more than £200.

Averys Alsace 2019 £11.99 Product code 1456119

We have returned, in 2019, to the original supplier of our own label Alsace, Cave de Hunawhir, and we are delighted that they agreed to make this special selection again exclusively for Averys. This vintage is a Pinot Blanc/Sylvaner blend and is floral and fresh with a crisp finish.

Averys Côtes du Rhône 2018 £12.49 Product code 0924818

Using the expertise of the fourth-generation Martin family and vineyards in premium Plan de Dieu, this is a rich Côtes du Rhône. Specially selected for Averys, it has generous ripe raspberry Grenache fruit, with the peppery black fruit of Syrah.

The 2015 vintage is, as Jancis Robinson notes, “a vintage worth making a fuss about”. And that is certainly true of our 2015 Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois. Brimful of black fruits, spice and slight woody notes, it’s a highly drinkable Haut-Médoc red.
